Presentation

The reality of gold is not just a beautiful ring on the wedding finger crafted by a skilled goldsmith. Or a sparkling pendant in the shop window at a jeweler store. If you look behind that, and look further You unfortunately find an another truth.

Child labor exploitation, poisoning and pollution of the environment, corruption of whole countries and/or government officials, violence, narcotics, exploitation of women and funding of armed conflicts. The list goes on and never ends. Today we have the Kimberly Process for Diamonds. A process to certify and trace diamond to the source to prevent some of this. Why don´t we have the same for gold? The problems in the Gold industry are similar. Why do we close our eyes and does not care about where and how the gold is produced?

This site is an effort to spread information about the misconducts in the gold industry to make people understand that something must and can be done.

Other goals is to inform miners by educational films made in the home countries in the local language about mining techniques that is environmentally friendly and sustainable, health care, rehabilitation of mine sites and much more…

Due to the political unstable situation in Mali and the Covid19 infection, the planned start of the project have been delayed. Due to the delay, we buy as much scrap gold we can, and 5 % of the melting value are reserved to fund this project. You can read more here about the very high human and environmental value in recycling scrap gold through refining and then selling the gold to the open market.

When the situation is more stable, we will start to purchase detector mined gold in Mali. That is gold found by a metal detector.

Further we have ambitions to established a small mine in Mali the year after. This to mine gold eco-friendly as a pilot project in the purpose to create further funding to an educational center for miners and a place for producing films. There will also be possibilities for anyone who wants to visit the camp to spend a budget vacation and perhaps help with the work.

The project will initially sell refined detector mined gold. Later we will hopefully even sell self-mined gold to goldsmiths worldwide. The Certified Gold will have a premium of about 5-10% over the gold spot price and this is close to the price goldsmiths pay today without certificate. The gold will be sold in fine gold bars, bars of 18, 14, 9 and 8 carat of 2.5, 5, 10, 20,1 oz, 50 and 100 gram, with one certificate for every 2.5 gram of fine gold content, to hand over to the end customer. The bars can be melted and casted to raw material in the own goldsmiths workshop for production of the Jewelries.

Certificates can be purchased as a goodwill statement for the customers without delivery of gold, either as we sell the amount of gold to the world market, or a certificate of a certain amount of money to back the project.

The founder and financial backer of the project is a Goldsmith living in Sweden, Lars Thulin, who one day simply could not stand working in the workshop anymore without doing something.

A change must be initiated and things must be done about the situation. You CAN tribute more than You think. Either just by reading this and spread the information by words to others. You can link to the website. Like the page with Facebook. Participate by donate scrap gold or other gifts for our work. You can become a member in the foundation. M ore detailed information about how You can contribute will be here later when the site is more complete.
